Video Release: "Live Action Racing Game"

RaceChip, the market leader for electronic performance enhancement via an auxiliary control unit, with headquarters in Göppingen, presented yesterday its new show car and product video. Drawing inspiration from popular street racing video games, two RaceChip cars, a Golf VII R and a Porsche Macan Turbo, are transformed using the RaceChip configuration into show cars and then compete in an exciting race over an abandoned airfield. The video is the company’s most ambitious to date and was completely realized in-house, all the way from the initial concept to the final cut.

Shooting in RaceChip style

The film was shot over several days on a disused airfield. Seven RaceChip employees, along with the drivers of the show cars, took part in the organization and the filming work. The marketing and design team lead by Fabian Kuhn was responsible for the concept and content of the video, as well as fitting out the vehicles as show cars and undertaking the film work. The strengths and core competencies of the employees in photography, film and postproduction were fully utilized and further developed in this project. New equipment was purchased in order to do justice to our very high standards: “First and foremost we wanted to shoot a video that really brought our products for performance enhancement to life, a video that conveys the emotions that our products provoke. RaceChip has invested heavily in special training for the team and highly professional technical equipment for the creation of this video. I don’t think that many companies have these opportunities at their disposal. The extra effort has really paid off. It’s best to let everyone see for themselves. The video speaks for itself and we are very proud of the results”, said Senior Designer Fabian Kuhn.

Corporate culture and goals in harmony

RaceChip as a company is strongly characterized by the enthusiasm of its employees for cars. Every single employee lives his or her passion for cars and brings this enthusiasm to projects like these, successfully carrying them out on tight schedules. There were only 20 days available for postproduction before the release of the video and the team had to stick to this tight timeframe. Dominic Ruopp, CEO of RaceChip, is thrilled. “With particular attention to detail and working on a very tight schedule, the team demonstrated the know-how it has at its disposal and utilized it perfectly. I am already looking forward to future projects”. In addition to the in-house presentation for all employees and yesterday’s release, the video will be presented to visitors of the RaceChip booth (hall 2, D110) as the Essen Motor Show 2015.

Technical data of the show cars

In the video, two production vehicles are configured as show cars and they then put on a race. But also in real life, both vehicles were indeed set up as show cars and underwent electronic performance enhancement thanks to RaceChip’s auxiliary control units. The Golf R comes equipped as standard with 221kW (300 hp) and 380 Nm, and thanks to the chip tuning provided by the RaceChip Ultimate, this was boosted to 274 kW (373 hp) and 500 Nm. Chip tuning by the RaceChip Ultimate resulted in a power output of 354 kW (482 hp) and 682 Nm for the Porsche Macan Turbo, which comes from the factory with 294 kW (400 hp) and 550 Nm at its disposal. Both vehicles were optically fitted out with a RaceChip foil that was designed by RaceChip designers and implemented by its partners SchwabenFolia and 2m Designs. Additional components of the vehicle configuration are chassis by KW suspensions, rims by Enkei and Vossen and an exhaust system by Edel01. RaceChip has already worked together successfully with these partners in the past and is delighted by their contribution to the video. The video is available online on Youtube: WATCH VIDEO.
